Our Roots

About Us

KiKi London exists at the intersection of ritual, nature, and modern living. We create botanically led cosmetic formulations that honour traditional practices while embracing contemporary standards of performance, safety, and design.

More than products, our creations are designed as rituals - elevated essentials that invite pause, intention, and care across hair, skin, and lifestyle.

Crafted in London

My background was far removed from oils, botanicals, and formulation.

I trained as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, beginning my career within the Big 4 in London before moving into investment banking, working on mergers and acquisitions.

It was a life defined by precision, performance, and pressure — a world of balance sheets rather than balance of self.

Alongside me, my wife and co-founder brings a clinical perspective shaped by her work as an Optometrist - grounding our approach in both care and precision.

Yet some of the most powerful influences in our lives sit quietly in the background, waiting to be rediscovered.

A Childhood Rooted in Ritual

We grew up in the UK within an Indian, Gujarati household where hair oiling and scalp massage - Champi - was ritual, not routine.

An ancient Ayurvedic practice passed down through generations, believed to nourish the scalp, strengthen hair, and restore calm.

As life in Britain took over, the ritual slowly faded - not through lack of belief, but through adaptation.

When we left our homes, the practice disappeared altogether.

The Moment Everything Changed

Years later, watching our nieces have oil gently massaged into their hair brought everything full circle.

What stood out was not the ritual itself, but what was missing. Despite a saturated market, finding premium-quality oils that felt natural, ethically considered, non-greasy, and distinctly modern proved difficult.

At the same time, I was surrounded by experiences of hair thinning, hair loss, and uneven beard growth - our own included. The solutions available felt polarised: either clinical and impersonal, or traditional without refinement.

I didn’t want to choose between heritage and innovation.

That desire became the foundation for our first creation — Tēl (Hindi and Gujarati word for oil).

East Meets West

KiKi London is guided by a simple belief that ancient wisdom deserves modern execution.

We draw from time-honoured Ayurvedic principles and refine them through contemporary standards of formulation, sourcing, and design. Each creation is developed with intention to integrate seamlessly into modern life while honouring ritual.

Our products are created to feel purposeful and considered. To elevate care beyond routine. To become part of everyday ritual.

While hair and beard care mark the beginning of our journey, KiKi London is not defined by a single category. Our vision extends across hair, skin, and self - shaped by nature, considered design, and quiet luxury.
